Pastor Nominating Committee Update
The work of the Pastor Nominating Committee has begun. The process can be divided into three phases as shown below.
While much of the PNC’s work must remain confidential, we will keep you updated on our progress by “checking” off tasks as they are completed.
Phase One: Setting Up the Organization
Mission Study Committee develops
the Pinnacle Presbyterian Church Mission Study.
Session and Presbytery approval of
the Mission Study.
Congregation elects Pastor Nominating
Committee.
Assign role and responsibility of
each PNC member.
Meet with the Presbytery Committee
on Ministry representative (Rev. Fran Park).
Develop the Church Information Form
(CIF).
Session & Presbytery approval of
the CIF.
Submit CIF to Presbyterian (U.S.A.)
Web site.
Establish processes to receive,
review and respond to interested applicants.
Phase Two: Conduct a Broad Search
Broadly communicate position
and begin networking.
Advertise in key journals.
Communicate with other presbyteries
and synods to request referrals.
Letters to clergy in comparable
churches.
Get congregation actively involved
in talent search.
Develop screening process.
Receive resumés.
Evaluate candidates Pastor Information
Form (PIF).
Conduct telephone interviews with qualified
applicants.
Make preliminary visits to qualified
candidate locations.
Narrow list of candidates.
Phase Three: Final Selection Process
Observe final candidates on their
home turf.
Interview finalists.
Contact references.
Conduct background checks.
Select candidate of choice.
Obtain Presbytery approval.
Introduce candidate to congregation.
Obtain congregation approval.
Welcome our new Pastor.

Church Information Form
The Church Information Form, or CIF, is complete, has been approved by Session and the Presbytery, and will be posted through the PC(USA) Web site. The CIF is also available as a PDF download here (316KB).
