Extended Day Classes
Pinnacle Presbyterian Preschool offers Extended Day classes to provide children with extra time at preschool. Our classes run in six- to eight-week sessions, with four sessions per year. All areas of interest are covered with a different class offered every day. If children are signed up for Extended Day, they bring their lunch to school and eat with their friends before afternoon classes begin. Below is a listing of our Extended Day classes. Extended Day Program Overview
Karate Kids
Courtesy, respect and self-control are the cornerstone of martial arts. USA Martial Arts has contracted to provide beginning karate lessons for our three and four-year-old classes. Minimum class size is 10 children.
Beginning Ballet & Tap
Move over Mikhail Baryshnikov! Kidtastics has been contracted to provide beginning ballet lessons for our three and four-year-old classes. Minimum class size is 10 children.
Little Kicks Soccer
Contracted by Simply Sports, the program’s goal is to promote having fun, while developing the child's gross motor skills, increasing self esteem, and encouraging social and group interaction. Minimum class size is 10 children.
Book Cooks
Providing early reading and math skills, children work cooperatively in small groups, learn to follow direction, learn use of cooking tools and measurement concepts, and build self-confidence as they successfully prepare recipes. Each week a story is shared with the class and the children prepare a related recipe. Minimum class size is 6 children.
Young Edisons
Young Edisons incorporates math, language arts, literature and sensory integration within its science based content. Children are encouraged to think on their own and discover by experimentation. By questioning, observing and making predictions, the learning is messy, mysterious and cool! Minimum class size is 6 children.
Art with the Masters
Vincent Van Gogh, Edwin Degas, Claude Monet as well as other famous artists will be studied to inspire creativity and bring out the artist in everyone. Many types of mediums will also be taught to encourage an appreciation of art and all it has to offer. Minimum class size is 6 children.
Ooey Gooey Escapades
Get ready to get messy during this “sense”sational class! Each week will feature various exciting materials which promote problem solving, social interaction, wonder and curiosity while strengthening fine motor skills. Minimum class size is 6 children.
The Nature Studio
Take a stroll then spend the afternoon creating with natural materials found in the desert. This class allows the children to become exposed to open-ended materials, which encourages them to enhance creativity and express individual ideas. Minimum class size is 6 children.
Yoga Kids
Traditional yoga techniques are re-created in playful, simple and fun ways. Yoga Kids grow strong physically, mentally and emotionally while cultivating confidence and self-esteem. Minimum class size is 6 children.
Tumbleweeds
Contracted by Kidtastics, this non-competitive tumbling class helps to develop body awareness, strength, muscle tone and self-confidence. Children learn early tumbling skills while enhancing motor development, coordination and listening skills. Minimum class size is 10 children.
Los Amigos
Play and learn Spanish! Sing songs, play games, and learn simple phrases. Most importantly, encourage your child's interest in the language and in other cultures. Minimum class size is 6 children.
Books Come Alive!
Books will come to life during this session of literacy based play. Various books are featured each week that encourages dramatic play as well as stimulating fun activities that reinforces the book read aloud that day. Minimum class size is 6 children.
