To friends in Christ at Pinnacle Presbyterian,
Our dear brother, friend, teacher, pastor and companion, Fran Park, has died. As most of you know by now, Fran has been waging a noble battle with multiple myeloma for a year. We’ve had moments of hope and moments of recognition along the way. The condition never went into remission, though he continued his ministry as he was able. His prayers moved us, his presence inspired, and his words reminded us of the God he served so magnificently for so many years. You might remember his last sermon at Pinnacle, on August 14. He called it, “What Do You See When You Come to Worship? Do You See What I See?” He may ask us the same question now, with even more knowledge than before. He now sees. It is, nevertheless, a sad day.

Fran served Pinnacle for 9 years, and before that 15 years as Pastor of Faith Church, Sun City, where he was named emeritus in 1998. He also served congregations in Columbus, Ohio, and Elmira, New York. Fran served the denomination in a number of ways, taught on an adjunct basis at Pittsburgh Seminary, where he also served as a Trustee. He was, and remains in our hearts now, a giant.
He is survived by his wife (and our sister) Sue, daughters Cathy and Ann, son Andy, their spouses David Koeneman and Don Wade, and grandchildren Kadie, Megan, Alison, Tom, and Matthew and, of course, we who loved him.
We will gather in memorial for Fran and celebration of the Resurrection on Monday, November 21, at 10 a.m. in the Pinnacle Sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that gifts may be made to the Pinnacle Theological Center c/o Pinnacle Presbyterian Church, 25150 N. Pima Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85255.
In Christ,
Wesley D. Avram
Senior Pastor
