Habitat for Humanity Home Update
On Saturday, March 24, the Presbyterian Coalition of area churches held a Groundbreaking Ceremony and commenced construction of a new Habitat for Humanity home for Gilbert and Rebecca Molina and their four children, ages 2 to 10.
The home is being constructed in Guadalupe, at the southern border of Tempe, on land donated to Habitat by the Presbytery of Grand Canyon. Rev. Bud Engstrom, Associate Pastor of Mountain View Presbyterian Church, provided the blessing for the structure. Amy Dahlby and Dianne Drake of our congregation provided a delicious fried chicken lunch with all the trimmings for 45-plus volunteers.

The response from our congregation for Habitat volunteers to work on construction of the Molina home and to provide lunches for the workers has been truly heartening. Thank you to all!
Many of the workday rosters and the lunch volunteers have been filled, but we still are looking for construction, painting and landscaping volunteers for April 28, May 12, June 2 and June 16. Incidentally, Habitat provides portable cooling units on the construction site, so the May and June dates will not be uncomfortable!
Those interested in helping on one or all of these days (no skills or tools required) can look for the Habitat table on our church patio or contact Roy Gust, e-mail gustben@msn.com or phone 480.315.1701, or Doug Brown, e-mail TCB51@cox.net or phone 480.515.1361.
